This is not a map of a known place. It is Jonathan Harker’s attempt to understand the impossible castle that has become his prison: an architectural reconstruction built from glimpses, corridors, windows, and the sheer precipice beyond them.

Its sections break where the novel leaves us without an answer. The great door, ruined chapel, courtyard, stairways, and boxes of earth appear as evidence in an obsessive Victorian study, while gaps and broken lines acknowledge what Harker cannot see.

Made for readers drawn to Gothic atmosphere rather than spectacle, this edition carries the unease of an unknowable place—one that seems to have no visible means of entry from the side Harker can see.
